a week of “last times”

My “last times” started on Saturday. I’m not sure when I’ll be in Lopburi after I move. So I’ve been experiencing: last bike rides to certain parts of town; last ordering fruit shakes at a fruit shake stall near the train station; last times worshipping the Lord in Thai at my church; last times I may see certain people; last times I will eat at Raan Jum… There are many “last times” I expect to occur this week – it’s hard to say ‘goodbye’ or at least ‘see you in a while.’

I’ve been blessed to have my friend Wan staying with me this weekend. Yesterday was Mother’s Day in Thailand (because it’s the Queen’s birthday) and usually people go home to visit their mothers. Wan didn’t go home this weekend, but asked if she could stay at my place. Actually she asked if “hotel Beth” was open this weekend. It’s open. 🙂 And it’s been a fun weekend. Praise the Lord for this time together!

I have the writing component for my year one exam on Tuesday, and then the speaking and listening parts on Thursday. I’ve been told that the year one exam is “no big deal” and that I “shouldn’t worry about it.” I’d still appreciate prayer though.

On Wednesday I’ll make a trip into Bangkok to visit with Crystal over lunch. It’s been more than 2 months since she and her family moved from Lopburi to Bangkok and I’ve definitely missed her and her family. I’m so happy and thankful that it’s worked out for us to meet for lunch.

Please pray too that all the other millions of things that need to get done this week, do get done and done well. Pray that I’d continue to rely on My Rock throughout this transition time and that I’d be sensitive to His leading.

Thanks.

I’m with you Beth. I enjoyed my last times in Marseille. Now am into the “here we go again” times in SK. ; ) May the Lord prepare your way and give you peace.
